Avico Electronics – Warranty, Refund & Returns Policy

1. Scope of Policy

This policy outlines Avico Electronics’ warranty, refund, and return terms as they apply to our two business divisions:

• AV Integration Services (Custom installation, system design, programming, commissioning)
• Wholesale/Retail Product Supply (Display panels, cameras, control processors, cabling, accessories)

Each section below distinguishes the applicable terms for each division where relevant.

2. Warranty Policy

2.1 General Warranty (All Clients)

Avico Electronics warrants that its products and services are free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery or installation, unless otherwise specified.

During this period, we will repair or replace, at our discretion, any defective product or re-perform any services that fail to meet agreed specifications, at no additional cost.

2.2 AV Integration Clients

  • 12-month workmanship warranty covering installed systems, terminations, and programming logic.
    • Warranty does not cover modifications by third parties, power surges, or environmental damage.
    • Warranty is void if the system is altered without Avico’s authorisation.

2.3 Retail/Wholesale Clients

  • Products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty (usually 12–36 months).
    • Avico facilitates claims during the first 12 months. After that, clients deal directly with the manufacturer.
    • Warranty excludes normal wear, misuse, or third-party damage.

3. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law (ACL)

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

AV Integration projects are typically conducted under a commercial contract and are not ordinarily considered consumer acquisitions under the ACL. Where applicable, Avico will comply with any residual statutory guarantees that cannot be excluded under law.

Where goods/services are provided for commercial use, or are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal use, ACL guarantees may not apply. Avico primarily services commercial (B2B) clients.

4. Site Visits and Call-Out Fees

For non-warranty or post-warranty site work, a call-out fee of $465.00 (ex. GST) applies for the first hour. Subsequent time is billed at $195.00 per hour in 15-minute increments.

5. Refund & Return Policy

5.1 AV Integration Clients

  • Design, installation, and programming services are non-refundable once commenced.
    • Project cancellations are subject to fees for work completed and hardware ordered.
    • Refunds do not apply to partially completed system components or labour already delivered.

5.2 Retail/Wholesale Clients

  • Returns accepted within 14 days for unused, unopened items in original packaging.
    • Change-of-mind returns may incur a restocking fee.
    • Opened items, consumables, or software licenses are non-returnable.
    • Items returned after 14 days or without proof of purchase will not be accepted.
